PROFILE:

Jacky became a member of Chambers in 2019 upon completion of his pupillage with Mr. Simon Wong, Mr. Victor Gidwani, Mr. Jon Wong, Mr. Caesar Lo, and Mr. Isaac Chan.

Jacky is developing a broad civil and criminal practice and accepts instructions in all areas of work.  On the civil side, Jacky is experienced in handling a wide spectrum of civil cases.  Amongst other areas, he has a growing practice in personal injuries litigations and employees’ compensations cases.  He has been instructed to advise and represent both claimants and defendants.

On the criminal side, Jacky has been instructed to appear in different levels of court, either in his own right or as a led junior.  He is experienced in defending departmental summons, traffic offences, violent offences, drugs offences, and offences of dishonesty.

Liu Caiqiong v Good Excel Property Consultants Limited HCPI 24/2016: represented the employer defendant at trial, led by Mr. Simon Wong (judgement pending)

張麗珍 Leighton Able Joint Venture 及另一人 [2019] HKDC 1259: represented the employer respondent at trial and successfully persuaded the Court to dismiss the EC application, led by Mr. Simon Wong

HKSAR v Hui Wing Tak (ESS14786/2020 & ESS14787/2020): acted for the Defendant in defending against the summons offence of failing to pay wages on time without reasonable excuse under Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57)

HKSAR v Hui Ngar Yin Louise (WKS19456/2019): acted for the Defendant in defending against the summons offence of terminating the contract of service of an employee who has suffered incapacity under Employees’ Compensation Ordinance (Cap.282)

HKSAR v Wong King Ngai (KTS10504/2019)acted for the Defendant in defending against the summons offence of keeping animal that makes noise which was an annoyance to others under Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400)
