PROFILE
Truman joined Chambers upon completion of pupillage with Mr Edwin Choy SC, Mr Kevin Chan, Mr Jon Wong and Mr Simon Wong.
Prior to joining the Bar, Truman was a financial crime investigator in a European investment and institutional banking group. He has more than six years’ experience working in AML and regulatory compliance, specialising in transaction review and profile screening.
Truman is developing a mixed practice with a predominant interest in criminal matters. He has experience in handling cases involving white-collar crimes, dishonesty offences, violence and public order, sexual offences ranging from rape to voyeurism, dangerous drugs, immigration and traffic offences.
Regarding civil practice, Truman focuses on personal injuries and employment matters as well as commercial fraud. Pivoting on his background and knowledge in AML/CTF guidelines, Truman also advises private clients on banking-related matters such as account suspension, letter of no consent, enhanced due diligence, sanction and source of funds.
Truman is proficient at conducting hearings and drafting submissions in both English and Cantonese. He is also fluent in Mandarin, Hokkien and Bahasa.
