Duncan commenced his practice as a barrister-at-law in 2016.
Duncan practises in both criminal and civil law. He has appeared as an advocate in the Court of Appeal, the Court of First Instance, the District Court, the Family Court, the Lands Tribunal and the Magistrates’ Courts.
Duncan has conducted a wide spectrum of criminal matters including but not limited to murder, assault and wounding, moeny laundering, fraud and bribery, dangerous drugs offences, sexual offences, trade descriptions offences, criminal intimidation, blackmail, theft, robbery and burglary, immigration offences, offences relating to triad societies, offences under Dutiable Commodities Ordinance and road traffic offences etc.
Duncan also has experience in handling various departmental summonses including the Labour Department, the Housing Department, the Buildings Department, the Environmental Protection Department, the Inland Revenue Department and the Department of Health etc.
Duncan has always been instructed to conduct trials in the High Court, District Court and Magistrates’ Courts. He also has experience in handling appeals in the Court of Appeal and in the Court of First Instance. Duncan also regularly prosecutes on fiat for the Department of Justice.
In addition to his criminal work, Duncan has also been instructed in a wide range of civil cases involving areas including personal injury claims, employees’ compensation cases, probate cases, employment law cases, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency matters, family and matrimonial disputes, land and property disputes, contractual disputes, defamation cases and Small Claims Tribunal appeal cases etc.
馬大律師於 2016 年起執業為大律師。他的執業範圍涵蓋了刑事法及民事法。
馬大律師曾於上訴法庭、原訟法庭、區域法院、家事法庭、土地審裁處及各裁判法院中，代表其當事人作出訟辯。
於刑事法方面，馬大律師有處理過各種刑事案件的經驗，當中包括但不限於謀殺、襲擊及傷人、清洗黑錢、 欺詐及貪污賄賂、毒品罪行、性罪行、商品說明條例下的罪行、刑事恐嚇、勒索、盜竊、搶劫、爆竊、入境條例下的罪行、有關三合會社團的案件、應課稅品條例下的罪行及各類有關道路交通的罪行等。
馬大律師亦有處理過不少關於不同政府部門所發出的傳票案件，其中包括勞工處、房屋署、屋宇署、環境保護署、稅務局及衛生署等。
馬大律師經常被委託於高等法院、區域法院及各裁判法院中處理不同的審訊案件，而他亦有在上訴法庭及原訟法庭中，處理過不同的上訴案件。另外，馬大律師亦會定期以外聘主控的角色，去協助律政司檢控不同的刑事案件。
除了有處理上述刑事案件的經驗外，馬大律師亦曾被委託處理不同的民事案件。當中涉獵的範疇包括人身傷亡索償案件、僱員補償案件、有關遺囑的案件、有關勞工及僱傭法的案件、破產及公司清盤的事宜、有關家庭及婚姻爭議的案件、有關土地及財產爭議的案件、有關合約上有爭議的案件、誹謗案件及小額錢債審裁處的上訴案件等。
